Bedford Fire Department responds to two vehicle incidents Sunday


BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) – The Bedford Fire Department said it responded to traffic incidents during the evening of February 7.

Bedford Fire officials responded to the 5000 block of Peaks Road around 6:24 p.m. on Sunday for a vehicle fire.

Units arrived and secured the scene and began battling the blaze.

Engine 1 extinguished the fire and Rescue 1 assisted before the area was cleared.

During the vehicle fire on Sunday, crews responded to a head-on collision at the 5800 block of Dickerson Mill Road.

Company 1 and Wagon 1 arrived and found two vehicles with heavy damage and blocking both lanes of traffic.

No injuries were reported. All lanes were reopened after the scene was cleared.

Wagon 1 confirmed no injuries and remained on the scene until lanes were re-opened.
