AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The George Washington & Jefferson National Forest’s Glenwood and Pedlar Ranger District is currently working on an active fire in the Saint Mary’s Wilderness.
The location of the fire is north of Coal Road in Augusta County on National Forest System lands in rocky and steep terrain.

Residents are advised they may see smoke over the next couple of days while firefighters work to contain the flames.
The following roads are closed to ensure public safety:
- Cellar Mountain Trail (#587)
- Cold Springs Trail (#584)
- Bald Mountain Spur Road (Forest Service Road #62A)
