VINTON, Va. (WFXR) – The Town of Vinton has announced the return of the 5th annual Santa Crawl.
The event will take place on Tuesday, December 10 starting at 5:30 p.m. from the Vinton War Memorial, following four routes within the town.
The Santa Crawl tradition spreads holiday cheer as Santa, Mrs. Claus, and a few of their elves travel through the town bringing families candy, coloring books, as well as dog treats to our furry friends.
Parents are reminded that times may vary depending on traffic.
The Santa Crawl started in 2020 with the collaboration between the Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Vinton. This was after the Christmas Parade was canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
“The Santa Crawl was designed to bring Santa to the kids when they couldn’t come see him in 2020 due to the canceled parade,” said Mayor Brad Grose. “It turned out to be so much fun for staff and so popular with the families, we decided to keep it going. To be honest, I am not sure who enjoys it more—the kids or the Town Council and Staff.”
