AMHERST COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – On Thursday, January 16, Patricia Wiggington appeared before an Amherst General District Court in her first hearing facing charges of accessory and obstruction in the murder case of Elsie Wiggington.
During the speedy first hearing, the judge set a bond of $2,500 as well as a no-contact order with Fred Wiggington.
Court documents allege that during interviews with police, Patricia first said she didn’t know anything about Elsie’s whereabouts. However, during an interview after her body was discovered in August, Patricia allegedly admitted that she did know something violent had happened and that Fred was allegedly involved.
Records show that Patricia moved in with Fred Wiggington on Pendleton Drive the same weekend that Elsie was murdered.
The prosecution called her misleading of police “heinous” and “inexcusable.”
