Martinsville Children’s Medical Center staying in business for 2025 and beyond

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – In November, the Martinsville Children’s Medical Center announced that it would close on January 1. However, a sudden change of heart occurred.

The center posted on Facebook Wednesday evening that thanks to a young mother who credits the medical center with saving her life, she decided to step forward as a consultant, with a plan to keep it open for 2025 and beyond.

“We were visited by a true angel today,” Doctor David Seamon, an American Board of Pediatrics certified pediatrician, said in the post.

According to Doctor Seamon, the mother’s identity wishes to remain anonymous.

The medical center plans to release more information in the future but does plan to add mental health services for children and evening hours to accommodate working parents.

It will also petition the state to renew its vaccine program, so it will have available vaccines for everyone.

“We sincerely thank you for your continued loyalty during our transition,” Doctor Seamon said in the post. “We’re excited to bring you a better option for your child’s health, development and overall well-being to our community.”
