SALEM, Va. (WFXR) – The LewisGale Medical Center has welcomed a new CEO to aid medical services in the community.

Collin McLaughlin assumed the CEO role on November 1 and will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the hospital in Salem.
The 506-bed facility offers care including cancer treatment, emergency medicine, cardiovascular care, and maternity services.
McLaughlin will help the hospital grow and attract services to better the needs of the community.
“I am honored and humbled to join the LewisGale team,” McLaughlin said. “It’s my goal to build on the outstanding care and patient experience the community has come to expect from LewisGale’s dedicated and compassionate healthcare professionals.” The hospital has served the residents of Southwest Virginia for more than a century.
Before assuming his role in Salem, he served as CEO of Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas Nevada. He led programs in stroke care, open heart surgery, and neurosurgery while overseeing the graduate medical education program of 90 residents and fellows.
“Collin is a leader who genuinely cares about patients and colleagues like family,” said Compton Biddle, chairman of the LewisGale Medical Center Board of Trustees. “I am confident his leadership and steadfast commitment to outstanding clinical quality and a positive culture will help us raise the bar and improve lives in the Salem area and across southern Virginia.”
McLaughlin has a bachelor’s in management from Brigham Young University
(BYU) and a master’s in health care administration from The George Washington University (GWU).
