ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – WFXR’s Jermaine Ferrell has been recognized amongst some of the great sports broadcasters and named the ‘2024 Virginia Sportscaster of the Year’ by the National Sports Media Association.

The winners are voted on and chosen by peers and other broadcasters within the industry and is considered a distinguishing honor.

The National Sports Media Association is a nonprofit organization founded in 1959 that celebrates the diverse legacy of sports media in the US and develops educational opportunities for people pursuing internships, mentoring, scholarship programs, and careers in sports media.
