ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Local health officials with the Roanoke City and Alleghany County Health Districts have reported that respiratory illnesses in Southwest Virginia have elevated, however, the trends remain stable as they closely monitor the numbers.
Residents are advised to get flu and COVID-19 vaccinations to avoid illnesses to you and your family.
To protect yourself consider the following:
- Get your flu vaccine if you haven’t yet.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Cover coughs and sneezes.
- Stay up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccines too!
