DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – The Danville Police Department arrests a wanted man in a barricade situation in the 100 block of White Street on Tuesday evening.
On February 4 around 3 p.m., members of the police department spotted 32-year-old James Edward Wells, who was wanted for seven different criminal charges. He then fled into an apartment building.
Wells refused to exit and attempted to talk to officers from a distance before trying to flee through two apartments to access the roof system.
There were multiple attempts to communicate with him over five hours, and after several hours, Wells surrendered from the attic without force.
He was served with the following warrants:
- Felony Burglary
- Felony Larceny of a Firearm
- Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
- Misdemeanor Assault and Battery on Family Members
- Misdemeanor Trespass
- Two Counts of Misdemeanor Destruction of Property
Wells was taken to the Danville City Jail.
