Danville fire on Edmonds Street kills dog



DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – The Danville Fire Department responded to a house fire on Tuesday on Edmonds Street with reports of a dog inside the home.

Dispatchers responded on January 28 around 2:37 p.m. and found smoke and fire coming from the basement.

Crews entered the home in efforts to search for the dog, however, the dog died before crews arrived.

The fire department stayed at the residence to secure the scene until the fire was under control.

The Danville Fire Marshal’s Office was able to determine the cause of the fire connected to faulty electrical.
