BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Work to clear trees and debris is a community effort taking place across the Southwest. The Blacksburg Police Department is helping chainsaw crews and has responded to over a hundred calls in the past 24 hours.
Blacksburg PD said since the winter storm that passed through the area, they have responded to 109 calls regarding downed trees and power lines.

To assist the Public Works Department, they are out there clearing the roads and sidewalks to speed up the cleanup time.
