ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A Flood Watch is in effect for Pocahontas, Greenbrier, and Tazewell Counties this weekend as more rain is expected to fall. Flood Warnings remain in effect for the Dan River near South Boston and the Roanoke River near Randolph as high water levels are expected over the next couple of days.

More rain is expected Saturday and Sunday with much of the region expected to pick up one to two additional inches of rain. Higher amounts are expected in the western mountains.

Cooler air is filtering into the region behind a cold front that will be east of the region on Friday.
As the front moves to the east, wind speeds will decrease overnight with less wind expected for Friday and the weekend.

Temperatures will be much cooler on Friday, starting in the teens and 20s with highs in the 30s and 40s.
Temperatures will be cooler through Saturday with warmer air moving in on Sunday. Cold air returns again for most of next week with a wintry mix possible on Wednesday.
