Man arrested for Martinsville GameStop robbery



HENRY COUNTY, Va. — Police arrested a man for robbing a GameStop in Martinsville Friday evening, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

At around 6:40 p.m. Friday, deputies and Martinsville Police responded to reports of a robbery at a GameStop located at 818 Commonwealth Boulevard in Martinsville.

Authorities identified the suspect as 39-year-old Richard Rotunda.

Deputies figured out that Rotunda traveled to Danville after the robbery, where he was apprehended by Danville Police near the Caesars Virginia casino.

A search revealed Rotunda to be in possession of money and a fake handgun, which authorities believe he used in the robbery.

Rotunda is currently being held at the Danville City Jail without bond until he can be extradited back to Henry County, where he will face one count of robbery.
