Roanoke County Fire & Rescue working to contain brush fire near Mount Chestnut Road



ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Roanoke County Fire and Rescue Department are on the scene of the Mount Chestnut Road area for a brush fire and electrical wire down on Wednesday.

Around 4:30 a.m., multiple units arrived in the Back Creek area of Roanoke County finding a fire being fueled by dry and windy conditions.

No structures have been involved however, some structures have been threatened by the fire.

There are no reported injuries at this time.

The Virginia Department of Forestry is on scene with a bulldozer to contain the flames.

Residents are advised to avoid the area as this is on a curvy and narrow road with many firetrucks and firefighter working on the blaze.
