BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) – The Moneta Volunteer Fire Department reported a fire in a wooded area just outside of Bedford on January 5.
Fire officials said there are downed live wires across Snowberry Hill near Moneta Road and Snowberry Hill Drive that are actively burning trees causing them to pop as they heat up.
Crews with Company 8 are currently on the scene are drivers in the area should use caution.
There is currently no ability for the fire department to mitigate or respond to the situation until AEP is able to assist and “de-energize” the still active line.
