Person rescued after rollover crash in Bedford


BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) – The Bedford Fire Department has rescued a person trapped in a vehicle that rolled over during a crash that occurred on December 2.

Fire officials said that around 10:03 a.m. on Monday, emergency personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident at the 2300 block of Moneta Road. Engine 1 arrived at the scene and found one person trapped inside a vehicle that went off the side of the road and flipped over.

Crews contacted the patient inside and began preparing for a rescue. Rescue 1 arrived and began to assist by stabilizing the vehicle.

Rescue 1 then removed the passenger side door to gain access to the vehicle’s interior and the person inside.

The patient was then stabilized and rescued from the vehicle before being taken to the hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
