Roanoke County Fire responds to Vinton house fire, 2 people displaced


ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Roanoke County Fire and Rescue responded to a residential structure fire in the Town of Vinton on November 22.

Crews responded to the 400 block of 8th Street in Vinton around 11:58 a.m. on Friday.

Wagon 2 began their response when they saw heavy smoke coming from the rear side of the two-story residence.

After 35 minutes, crews were able to control the fire however, there was major damage to the home displacing two adults.

No injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross is working to assist the displaced individuals.

Roanoke County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire and to estimate the cost of damage.
