ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Roanoke County, Botetourt, and the Town of Vinton are working together to create a safety plan to prevent deaths and serious injuries on roadways.
The Comprehensive Safety Action Plan will be through the Federal Highway Administration’s Safe Street and Roads for All (SS4A) program. The program will include safety for all roadway users such as pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, commercial vehicle operators, transit riders, and micro-mobility users.
After two community meetings and surveys in the Spring and Summer of 2024, Roanoke County is asking for feedback on the Comprehensive Safety Action Plan. It also includes proposals for intersections and corridors in Roanoke that are prone to accidents.
