Pinpoint Weather: 2025 starts windy and colder


After the New Year’s Eve storms and showers, Wednesday will start with clearing skies for many and gusty wind for all. Snow showers are possible in the WV mountains and SWVA.

Tonight will be windy with gusts of 35-50 mph possible along and west of the Blue Ridge. Snowfall north of 64 will range from 2″ to as much as 10″ around Snowshoe.

New Year’s Day will begin in the 30s with afternoon temperatures mostly in the 30s and 40s.

Temperatures in the coming week will be much colder than normal.

There is a chance of mountain snow on Friday and a possibility of snow across the region Sunday night and Monday morning.
