One dead in Albemarle County plane crash


ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — One person is reported dead after a plane crashed in Albemarle County Saturday.

Virginia State Police says the plane went down at 12:51 p.m. in a wooded area off of Monacan Drive East. The flight originated from Rockingham, North Carolina, but its intended destination has not been shared by VSP.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board have been notified.
