Missing North Carolina man last seen in Danville

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina is asking for the public’s assistance in finding a missing person who may have been seen in Danville.

79-year-old Morris Fain was reported missing on January 13 and was last heard from around 4:30 p.m. while driving to 312 Acme Street in Reidville. However, he never arrived at the destination. He was last seen wearing a flannel button-up shirt, blue jeans, and gray “Hey Dude” like shoes.

Fain is believed to be driving a 2001 White Nissan Altima with a taillight out and a handicap place card handing in the rearview mirror.

After the initial report was released, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office received a tip that he was seen in Danville on Monday at an Auto Zone where he allegedly stopped to ask for directions back to Reidsville.

Fain then stopped at the Liberty Gas Station on Franklin Turnpike in Danville where he again asked for directions and claimed he got lost. A motorist then escorted him onto US 29 Bypass where he exited onto the southbound lane.
