ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Brandon Oaks has announced its intergenerational program with Grandin Court Elementary School.

The program “Outstanding Girls Sporting Pearls and Fly Guys with Ties” will bring new relationships and promote understanding with 5th graders and local residents. The initiative will be recognized at the school board meeting on Tuesday, December 10.

The initiative of the program began in December 2023 when the Grandin Court Principal, William Krause, and Life Enrichment Director, Tresa Walko discussed working on partnerships that would benefit different age groups. This will benefit social interactions and promote positive attitudes.

The program at Grandin Court Elementary and Brandon Oaks will include activities and time for participants to have a sit-down conversation and share stories to help bridge the generational gaps.
