LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – A group of artists gathered and showed their work in Lynchburg’s Church of Christ thanks to a more than $3,000 grant from the Lynchburg Community Foundation.
On Thursday, January 23, participants with enCircle in Disabilities Support Services held a special exhibit where developmentally disabled artists visited local venues to learn how to work with a variety of mediums.
“So doing lots of crafts and really just enjoying each other and giving what they give to the world. Being an artist is something anybody can be, and these individuals are so happy and so just excited to create. That’s what we want to do for them,” said Philanthropy Coordinator with Encircle, Dehanza Kwong.
EnCircle stated that events and programs like this help create a more loving and supportive place for people with disabilities.
