ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – A new type of store is popping up in communities all across the country and Roanoke just landed its first they’re called “Bin” stores. They have people lining up seeking to find hidden treasures.
Roanoke Treasure Bins had people waiting outside braving the cold inching for the doors to swing open.
“It’s better than Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target all it.”
Ryan Fries Levin made his first visit to Roanoke Treasure Bins hoping to find an audio mixer.
“I’m very excited. My friend went the other week, and she said it was really fun, so I’ve been waiting to go.”
Melanie Thiareal had her wish list ready too, “The drones. Drones, love drones.”
Their products are overstock merchandise, returns, or clearance items from big-name big-box stores and online retailers like Amazon, Kohl’s, Target, and more.
“We wanted to bring something unique to our community, something that’s never been seen before here,” said Zaid Alqueblain, manager of Roanoke Treasure Bins. “Obviously, it’s the first of its kind here in Roanoke.”
The concept is unique. The bins are stocked on Thursday when the stores closed. On Friday every item in the bins is $12. What’s left on Saturday is $10, on Sunday $8 and so on. On Wednesday, what’s left is $2.
“You really don’t know what you’re going to find that’s what makes the story so exciting, you know you come in here you dig, and you never know what you’re going to get.”

“I got a train horn. I’m thinking I might put this on my car.”
How about a police car morphing robot, an infrared blowout brush, or this rechargeable light-up wand?
“I picked up an audio mixer, so yeah those are the two big finds for me today.” All the merchandise is as is, all sales are final and there are no returns or refunds. Roanoke Treasure Bins is located on Williamson Road just north of Hershberger Road Northwest.
