ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. Tuesday for areas along and east of the Blue Ridge. Visibility will drop below a quarter of a mile at times.

Rain is expected to return to the region through the overnight hours as a cold front moves east. The best chance for rain is west of the Blue Ridge with small chances to the east.
As the front approaches, temperatures will slowly rise as the rain moves in. Behind the front, some sunshine is expected to return, allowing temperatures to rise to above-average levels during the afternoon.
The region will temporarily dry out on Tuesday before more rain arrives on Wednesday. Between the two systems, a quarter to half an inch of rain is expected.

Temperatures will remain near to above average through Thursday with highs in the 50s and 60s. Temperatures drop into the 40s on Friday and Saturday with highs only in the 30s starting on Sunday.
