LPD responds to daycare for an allegedly armed man seeking medical attention



Lynchburg, Va. (WFXR) – On November 7, a man allegedly armed with a weapon promoted police response and caused two schools to be placed on restricted access when he entered a daycare seeking medical attention.

According to LPD, reports of an armed man inside the entrance of a church daycare on the 3100 block of Hill Street were received around 2:54 p.m. on Thursday. Police said the man allegedly approached daycare staff seeking medical assistance.

Officers quickly responded to the scene. The man was found and detained without incident.

During the incident, Linkhorne Middle and Linkhorne Elementary Schools were placed on Restricted Access as a precaution for around 10 minutes.

No injuries have currently been reported.
