Wythe County Sheriff looking for suspect accused of setting woman on fire


WYTHE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The Wythe County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect who allegedly set a woman on fire during an incident that occurred in Max Meadows on November 17.

The sheriff said that on Sunday, deputies responded to a home on Ramsey Mountain Road after emergency reports that a woman had been set on fire. On the scene, a woman was found with severe burns covering most of her body.

The victim and eyewitnesses identified the alleged suspect as 28-year-old Savannah Renee Adams of Pulaski.

Adams allegedly fled the scene in a silver 2004 Dodge Neon.

The woman was flown to a specialized medical facility for emergency treatment. The status of her injuries is currently unknown.

Savannah Renee Adams is currently wanted on the following charges:

  • Attempted Second-degree murder
  • Felonious Assault
