The National Transportation Safety Board will give an update on the investigation into a deadly midair collision near Reagan National Airport.

The news conference at the NTSB headquarters will start at 2 p.m. Friday.

The agency is spearheading the investigation into the Jan. 29 plane crash between a passenger airplane and a military helicopter. All 64 people on the American Airlines flight from Wichita, Kansas, were killed, as well as the three soldiers on board the helicopter.

The NTSB is hoping to release a preliminary report into what happened within 30 days of the crash.
