Wanted woman charged for allegedly setting fire to multiple homes in Campbell County



CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Law enforcement in Campbell County has announced the arrest of a wanted woman on arson and other charges in connection to fires set in multiple counties related to incidents starting in 2024.

According to the sheriff, 34-year-old Ashley Ernestina Inesta has been arrested in connection to multiple fires set in Campbell County, Appomattox County, as well as unrelated incidents in the City of Lynchburg.

Two incidents occurred at the same home in Campbell County on September 30, 2024, and then again on January 7, 2025.

After Inesta’s arrest, law enforcement allegedly found evidence leading to charges in connection to a fire in Appomattox County that occurred on November 24, 2024.

Additionally, Inesta was then charged for outstanding warrants out of Lynchburg.

Ashley Ernestina Inesta has been arrested and charged with the following:

Campbell County:

  • Maliciously set fire to woods, fences, grass, etc. (Felony) 18.2-86 Code of VA

Appomattox County:

  • Burning or destroying dwelling house (Felony) 18.2-77 Code of VA

Lynchburg City:

  • Unauthorized Use of Vehicle (Felony) 18.2-102 Code of VA
  • Lynchburg City: Eluding Police (Misdemeanor) 46.2-817(A) Code of VA

The Campbell County Sheriff said the investigation is still ongoing and that more charges are pending.
