Vehicle fire in Roanoke County estimates $30,000 in damage


ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Roanoke County Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire in the Cave Spring area of Roanoke County.

On Tuesday, November 5, units responded around 2:11 p.m. to the 3400 block of Richards Boulevard in Cave Spring.

Fire Marshal 2 was the first to arrive on the scene of a home and found a vehicle on fire in the driveway. The call was then upgraded to a working structure fire as the vehicle was very close to the house.

The fire was under control in around 10 minutes; however, the car was a total loss with minor damage to the home.

There were no injuries reported.

The Roanoke County Fire Marshal’s Office reported that the car fire originated in the engine compartment causing dry leaves to catch on fire.

The damage was estimated to be around $30,000.
