Two displaced after Roanoke County house fire



ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Roanoke County Fire and Rescue crews responded to reports of a house on fire in the 7700 block of Starlight Lane in the Clearbrook Area at around 9 a.m. Saturday morning.

A Roanoke County Police Officer was the first on scene and helped two adult residents evacuate the home.

The officer reported that flames were visible, and the call was upgraded to a working structure fire.

The Cave Spring volunteer fire department was the first unit on scene and established control of the fire, which was brought under control in around 45 minutes.

According to Roanoke County Fire and Rescue, the two residents of the home have been displaced and are staying with local family members.

The Roanoke County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire and an estimate of the damage.
