HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The Henry County Sheriff has made two arrests after an incident when shots were allegedly fired into a vehicle in Henry County on January 8.
The sheriff said around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies responded to reports of shots being fired into a vehicle on Fellowship Drive. At the scene, a person was found with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the hand.
While investigating, the alleged shooter was identified as 57-year-old Stacey Leon Moss of Henry County. After the shooting, Moss allegedly retreated into the home and then refused to exit after deputies arrived on the scene. However, Moss finally surrendered after a period of negotiation, the sheriff said.
After the initial incident and still on the scene, deputies then allegedly witnessed a second person wanted on unrelated charges.
46-year-old Zanthus Gerando Hairston of Henry County was also taken into custody without incident.
Investigators processed the scene and collected evidence related to the shooting.
Stacey Leon Moss has been charged with the following:
- Malicious Wounding (felony)
- Shoot into an Occupied Motor Vehicle (2 counts) (felony)
- Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony (felony)
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (felony)
- Reckless Handling of a Firearm (misdemeanor)
- Discharge of a Firearm in a Public Place (misdemeanor)
Zanthus Gerando Hairston has been charged with:
- Probation Violation (felony)
Both Moss and Hairston are currently being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bond.
