Thursday Night Football, Week 9 – Jets vs. Texans: How to watch, game time, TV channel, streaming

Happy Halloween everyone! Will the NFL serving us a trick or a treat when the New York Jets take on the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football?

This was likely a matchup the schedule makers were excited about back in the spring. Of course, they probably didn’t foresee the Texans losing Stefon Diggs and Nico Collins to injury. Likewise, they probably predict the Jets stumbling to a 2-6 record despite (or due to) sacrificing their future to go all in on Aaron Rodgers.

And yet, the Jets are 2.5-point favorites per FanDuel sports book.

The Jets were expected to compete for the chance to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl, but now they just want to show that their sacrifices weren’t in vain. Can they end their losing streak against the AFC South leaders?

Chris’ pick: I’m going with the Texans here. Neither of these teams are living up to pre-season expectations, but the Jets have been one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL The Jets should have one of the best teams in the NFL, at least on paper. However, they’re on a five-game losing streak and are coming off a loss to the lowly Patriots.

The Texans, meanwhile, haven’t been as good as expected, but are still 6-2 on the season and have been finding ways to win. The loss of Stefon Diggs will certainly hurt their offense with Nico Collins already on IR, but they still have Tank Dell, Dalton Schultz, Robert Woods, and Joe Mixon.

I have the Texans generating just enough offense — with Will Anderson, Danielle Hunter, and Tim Settle harrassing Aaron Rodgers behind a makeshift offensive line — to come away with the win.
