Threat to LCS High Schools forces basketball game to reschedule



LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Lynchburg Police say a school threat made to Lynchburg City Schools is being investigated and forced the rescheduling of a high school basketball game on January 17.

Early on Friday morning, Lynchburg City School (LCS) staff reported a possible threat occurring at the Heritage vs. E.C. Glass High School basketball game scheduled for tonight to the Lynchburg Police Department.

LPD said they immediately began investigating and working with LCS to assess the situation.

“We take all threats seriously and prioritize the safety of our community above all else. The close partnership between LCS and LPD is instrumental in addressing matters like these when they arise.” – LPD 

The January 17 basketball game between Heritage vs. E.C. Glass has been rescheduled out of an abundance of caution, school officials said.
