ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – WWE Champion and Hall of Fame Inductee Sergeant Slaughter joined WFXR News in the studio on January 31 to talk about his appearance at the 2025 Big Lick Comic Con when an unexpected moment occurred.
While delivering the afternoon forecast, Meteorologist Kara Thompson received an honor not many people have experienced.

As Kara is speaking, the towering shadow of Sgt. Slaughter suddenly looms behind her. He then proceeded to place Kara into his signature choke hold, the Cobra Clutch!
Kara and the production crew could hardly believe it as the American icon then handed her a coin, cementing her place as a “Proud Member of the Cobra Clutch Club.”
