‘Senior Social’ in Botetourt, protect seniors from crime



BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office Senior Focus Outreach Program will host the next Senior Social.

The Senior Social will be on Friday, November 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Fincastle Baptist Church located at 7330 Roanoke Road.

Sheriff Matthew Ward will give an overview of measures seniors can take to avoid being victims of crime. Along with the Sheriff, Donna Abbott, the Market Growth Manager within the Medicare and Retirement Division of United Healthcare will speak at the event.

There will be vendors for seniors to speak with about services that are available to them both publicly and privately.

Some services include daily well-being checks, general health, and on-site financial well-being. Government services will also be at the social to answer questions and aid seniors in their future needs.

The event will be free of charge and will also include a pre-Thanksgiving meal.
