RPD ramps up DUI enforcement the night before Thanksgiving

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Roanoke PD is gearing up for Thanksgiving but warns drivers to use extra caution as it is also one of the most dangerous travel holidays of the year.

RPD says the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is when they see a spike in drinking alcohol, which makes it one of the most dangerous nights for drivers on the road.

Officers with the RPD will ramp up their enforcement surrounding DUIs to ensure safety for residents and people in the town.

RPD advises residents to plan ahead and find a sober ride home.
