DALEVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – The Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Roanoke man for allegedly assaulting bystanders at a local auto parts store in Daleville on November 9.
Around 4:25 p.m. on Saturday, deputies responded to the Advance Auto Parts Parking lot on the 1500 block of Roanoke Road after reports of a physical altercation between two men, according to the sheriff. The argument allegedly escalated leading to the assault of bystanders in the parking lot.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they were able to identify and quickly detain the suspects. The first victim was found on his hands and knees with serious lacerations to the head. Deputies then identified additional victims as a result of the assault.
One victim was taken to the hospital by Botetourt County Department of Fire and EMS for treatment of serious injuries.
The suspect has been identified as 35-year-old Daniel R. Horne of Roanoke, Va.
Horne has been charged with two counts of malicious wounding and one count of assault and battery. He is currently being held in the Botetourt-Craig Regional Jail without bond.
