RCPS hosts Breakfast with Santa Fundraiser, learn more



ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – The Star Council led by students and Roanoke County Public Schools is inviting students and families to a Breakfast with Santa Fundraiser.

The event will be on Saturday, December 14 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at William Fleming High School located at 3649 Ferncliff Avenue NW. Students and families will receive a hot breakfast from RCPS’s food and nutrition partner, Southwest Food Service (SFE).

All ages attending the event can meet Santa to share their Christmas wishes and take a photo with him.

The event will also showcase a special performance by the Patrick Henry High School cast of Beauty and the Beast Jr., Woodrow Wilson Middle School’s cast of Seussical the Musical, and the William Fleming choir. There will also be caroling, music, and crafts, as well as an online story time with Santa later in the evening.

Families and students are encouraged to arrive before 9:20 a.m. to welcome Santa at his special entrance. However, participants are encouraged to arrive at any time as this will be a drop-in event.

Tickets are available here, or you can purchase tickets at the event by credit card, cash or check.

Here are the following ticket prices:

  • $6 – RCPS employees and children (under 18)
  • $8 – Adult
  • $22 – Family four-pack

RCPS identified a total of 422 students who experience homelessness within the current school year. Since the funds start in March of 2016, RCPS has provided almost $81,000 to support 397 families, which has impacted 837 students.

Proceeds from the event will go towards this fund to prevent families from becoming homeless. To learn more about this or donate you can visit www.rcps.info/Page/290.

So far in 2024, almost $13,000 has been raised for the Breakfast with Santa thanks to pre-event ticket sales and the community and business sponsors. This includes Gold-level sponsors: Anstey Hodge Advertising Group, Bank of the James, Branch, Branch Builds, Firehouse Skate ‘N Play, Karisma Salon, KNA Contracting, Lawrence Perry & Associates, Magic City Auto Group, Southwest Foodservice Excellence (SFE), and the Lucy Addison Class of 1960.
