Police chase leads to arrest of five on drug charges in Henry County


HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The Henry County Sheriff’s Office says a traffic violation led to a vehicle chase after the driver allegedly failed to stop on Thursday.

On February 13 around 4:00 p.m., police pursued a vehicle for three miles before stopping on Stockton Road in Henry County where the driver fled on foot. Law enforcement, assisted by the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources then tracked the driver to a residence on Willow Court.

Donavan Nibblett was arrested by deputies after suspected methamphetamine was found inside the vehicle leading to a search warrant at Mt. Olivet Road.

After the arrest, Narcotics Investigators allegedly linked the incident with an ongoing narcotics investigation and surveillance operation at the residence. Henry County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team member executed a search warrant at 8:15 p.m.

During the search, deputies allegedly seized what is believed to be heroin along with firearms and ammunition.

Four individuals were then arrested in connection to the investigation. Some of the individuals were also wanted on unrelated charges.

These individuals are being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center or the Martinsville City Jail.

Addition charges are pending as the investigation remains ongoing.
