ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A few showers are possible across the region today. The best chance will be in the mountains. Any rain on Friday will be light.
A higher rain potential moves in on Saturday with rain likely on Sunday. The rain on Sunday will be heavy at times. Over the next three days, one to three inches of rain is expected. Due to dry conditions, the flooding potential appears low.

There is a potential for a couple of strong to severe storms on Sunday as the cold front moves through. The better chance is over the Carolinas. Strong winds would be the main threat.

Temperatures on Friday will remain cool with temperatures only rising into the 40s. Temperatures will only fall a couple of degrees during the night.
Ahead of a cold front, warmer air moves in for the weekend with highs in the 50s and 60s. Temperatures return to the 50s on Monday and the 40s starting on Thursday. Next week, showers are possible on Tuesday.
