ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Showers will return to the region late Wednesday evening into the first half of the day on Thursday. For the afternoon, spotty showers will remain possible, with some areas seeing a little sunshine.
Rainfall will be lightest east of the Blue Ridge with up to a tenth of an inch expected. West of the Blue Ridge, between a tenth and a quarter of an inch if forecast with up to a half inch in West Virginia.
Temperatures will start the day in the 40s, rising into the mid-50s around midday before falling back into the upper 40s during the late afternoon hours.
Winds will increase on Thursday afternoon, pushing colder air into the region. Gusts to 35 mph are possible.
Temperatures will get much colder starting on Friday and continuing into the first half of next week. Temperatures will top out in the 40s Friday through Sunday. Look for highs in the 30s on Monday before returning to the 40s on Tuesday.
