Pinpoint Weather: Warming trend begins


ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for northwestern Pocahontas County on Tuesday. Areas of freezing rain and snow are expected for the mountains.

Icing and snowfall should be light light with a glaze of ice possible and up to one inch of snow.

Elsewhere, a stray shower is possible north of Interstate 64 with dry conditions expected elsewhere. Clouds will increase throughout the day with clouds conditions in the west and some sunshine in the east.

Winds will shift to the south, which will bring slightly warmer air back into the region. Temperatures will start chilly in the 20s before rising to near-average levels in the 40s and 50s during the afternoon.

Temperatures will remain in the 40s and 50s for the remainder of the week and weekend. Most of the region will stay dry during the weekend with a small chance for showers on Saturday and a better chance on Sunday.
