Pinpoint Weather: Unusually cold with snow possible


Quick-moving snow and rain showers are likely on Friday with accumulating snow in the mountains. Most other areas will see passing snow and rain showers.

Friday will start in the 20s with afternoon temperatures in the 30s from the Blue Ridge west. The Piedmont will be in the 40s.

Friday will be breezy with wind gusts increasing in speed through the afternoon.

There is a storm developing that has a good chance of bringing us wintry precipitation Sunday afternoon through Monday.

This computer model shows how widely varying the precipitation could be.

The rest of the week looks to be dry.

Cold temperatures will impact all of us through at least the middle of the month.
