Today will be increasingly cloudy with afternoon highs in the 40s.

Wind will be increasing as well with afternoon gusts in the 20s today and in the 30s Thursday.

The system bringing the wind will help to generate snow showers in the mountains and a brief mix of sprinkles/flurries and rain and snow showers along the Blue Ridge.
Temperatures tonight will be in the 30s with tomorrow’s highs mostly in the 30s, except for the Piedmont.

Temperatures for the week will gradually warm into the weekend and remain above normal through mid-December.
Other than some snow showers in the mountains tonight– and heavier snowfall in the northern Highlands and around Snowshoe–the week will be relatively dry until rainfall arrives Sunday night. Wet weather is possible through mid-month.
