Pinpoint Weather: Staying cold this weekend


ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Breezy conditions will continue through the weekend, with a little relief Saturday night. Gusts of 25 to 30 mph are possible.

Temperatures will remain chilly on Saturday with the wind making it feel even colder. Temperatures will start the day in the 20s, rising into the 30s and 40s for the afternoon.

Light snow showers are possible for the northwestern mountains on Saturday, with a better chance on Sunday as strong energy moves through the region.

Snowfall on Saturday could be up to one inch for the highest peaks. Another one to three inches is possible on Sunday. Flurries are possible outside the mountains, but accumulation is not expected.

Temperatures will remain cold through the weekend, topping out in the 40s. The coldest days will be Monday and Tuesday with highs in the 30s. Temperatures return to the 40s and 50s for the remainder of the week.
