ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — As the storm system that brought a cold rain to the region on Thursday departs, warmer air will return on Friday. Clouds will slowly break up throughout the day, especially east of the Blue Ridge.
Temperatures will rebound to near-average levels on Friday with highs in the 50s in the mountains and 60s in the east.
In the mountains, winds will pick up a bit during the afternoon with gusts of 20 to 30 mph possible.
Sunshine returns for the weekend and early next week with temperatures returning to the 60s. Rain chances are in the forecast on Wednesday with temperatures dropping back into the 50s on Thursday.
