ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Rain will come to an end overnight once a cold front moves east of the region. Colder air will filter in behind the front.
Temperatures will return to near-normal levels on Thursday behind the front. Temperatures will start the day in the 30s before rising into the 40s and 50s for the afternoon.
Another chance for rain will move into the region on Friday. Rainfall should be light. For the western slopes and higher mountains, this could be light snow. Any snow accumulation would be less than one inch.

Behind the front, gusty winds are expected overnight into Thursday morning and again on Friday afternoon with gusts to 25 mph possible.

Temperatures will top out in the 40s on Thursday and Friday. Temperatures drop into the 30s for Saturday through Monday before returning to the 40s starting on Tuesday. Overnight lows are expected in the 20s and 30s for the next week.
