Pinpoint Weather: Cloudy but dry for Christmas


ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Cloudy conditions are expected for your Christmas Day, but the region should remain dry. If we see sunshine, it will be in the afternoon.

Temperatures will be near average on Christmas Day. Temperatures will start in the 20s and 30s in the morning, rising into the 40s during the afternoon.

Dry conditions will continue through Friday. A few showers are expected on Saturday with a steady rain coming in on Sunday. Rainfall is expected between 0.50″ and 1.25″ with the highest totals along the Blue Ridge.

Rain is still needed for parts of the region with below-average rainfall for the year in Roanoke and Blacksburg. Lynchburg is near average with Danville well-above.

Temperatures for the remainder of the week will be near average in the 40s. Temperatures rise into the 50s starting on Saturday. Overnight lows will be in the 30s through Saturday morning, then the 40s.
