Pinpoint Weather: Clear Saturday, wintry Sunday morning

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – A cold front will bring precipitation into the region Saturday night lasting through Sunday night. There is a chance of freezing rain, sleet, and snow early Sunday and, to a lesser extent, Sunday night.

The wintry mix likely remains west of the Blue Ridge in the higher elevations. However, with cold air damned up against the mountains, the valleys are not excluded from a wintry possibility.

Precipitation types across the region could vary widely over relatively short distances.

This is how Saturday and Sunday compare.

Temperatures Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon will be fairly close.

Temperatures will warm next week with continued chances of rain.
